Communication

Code of Good Practice

Principle 4 – Dialogue with staff on matters likely to affect their employment enhances the quality and effectiveness of our policies and practices.

Reasons why you need good communications, but also reasons why it will be challenging to do so
  • Situation and therefore response changing rapidly
  • Wide range of personalities and backgrounds
  • Poor working and living conditions replace communication with irritation
  • High staff turnover
  • Team members having to take decisions independently
  • Heavy workloads
Team and individual meetings, the formation of a staff council, grievance procedures and whistleblowing are considered as possible options in this section.
